Welcome to the second month of the "What Real Motherhood Looks Like" linkup! If you're new the the concept, it's based on this guest post by my co-host, Sarah, wrote for me. In a social media society, we are flooded by images of motherhood...and many of them seem staged. The smiling kids, the fancy crafts, the perfectly cleaned (and decorated homes). These images can be inspiring, but it's important to remember that they are only a part of motherhood.
There are so many other moments we just don't see (or share). So that's what I'm challenging you to do, share the less-than-picture-worthy motherhood moments. Some of those moments are difficult and embarrassing. Other ones are actually quite sweet and endearing, but don't translate well to pictures (cuddling your toddler with snot running down her face, anyone)? Just like any other part of our lives, motherhood is meant to be taken as a whole, and we can't have those amazing motherhood highs without those lows.

The truth is, no matter how many loads of laundry I do, I never feel like that pile gets any smaller. And all our storage is pretty much taken, so those boxes will probably stay there until we move into a bigger place or I get rid of a good chunk of our junk. And you know what? This isn't a Pinterest worthy room, but it's our room and I'm pretty darn happy with it.
And you know what you don't see from that view? That laying next to me are the cutest daddy-daughter pair ever:
Sometimes, the best mama advice is simply to turn your eyes away from the mess and to what's really important.

Agh--what a SWEET pic of your husband and daughter! So sweet :) Have a good week, friend!
