THESE SHOES! were given to me by a coworker who said they've been in her closet forever and she's only worn them once. Um, that won't be a problem for me, I want to wear them every day! (In case you are wondering they are super comfy - I feel like I'm wearing flats!) When she handed them to me, I thought, "God really does provide...great shoes!" I've really been wanting some fun shoes for a while, but it's just not in the budget...and then these gems turn up FOR FREE. Seriously? I've been really stressing about finances, but this is a great reminder that we have all we need and then some. If you need a little reminder to take things a day at a time and trust God, check out this exceptional post from Dwija.
Sometimes I watch the Super Bowl. I actually really enjoy watching football. I attribute this to high school cheerleading, because we had to learn the rules and I think any sport becomes much more fun to watch if you actually know what's going on. I have a lot to catch up this week with work though, so I'll be upstairs working on lesson plans. Totally my fault for not using my time wisely last week. By the way, if you're still looking for some Super Bowl munchie ideas, check out this Cheddar Bacon Dip recipe posted by Jenna a while back.
Yesterday, David and I started a first five Saturdays series. If you are not familiar with this devotion, here's a quick run-down: For five months in a row, on the first Saturday of the month, you attend Mass, go to Confession, pray the Rosary, and meditate on the mysteries for fifteen minutes. David and I did this together while we were dating (engaged?) and he felt it was time to do it again. It has been such a grace for us in the past, and I encourage you to read more about it here. I'll see you at Mass and Confession next month?
Anyway, this is what I wore to Mass yesterday. And again today. What can I say? I loved the outfit and changed out of it right away both days. And I went to different churches so no one will know, right? I mean, except for all y'all.
And for those moms struggling with toddlers at Mass, you might be interested to know that Lucia got a F- for Mass behavior today. You would have thought that would have been hard to accomplish since she slept until the homily, but she managed it EASILY. I did not manage so well...
