tutorial: Joy is at Home |
Made this recipe the other night (with a few tweaks: organic ground beef, white rice, additional seasoning - especially in the tomato sauce). They were amazing. We're looking forward to making them again with a southwestern flair - spicy peppers and salsa, chili powder and lots and lots of cumin. This is definitely going to be a staple in our house.
Anyone else have a March birthday? I think we really hit the jackpot with such a lovely birthstone! Over the years, I've gotten a few pieces of aquamarine jewelry. Is it just me or does birthstone jewelry seem to be a huge gift for the person you don't know what to get? Anyway, I'm glad it is, because I really adore those pieces.
Feeling better now? Yep, totally! Thanks, Hallie!
And I think I'll take the day off tomorrow. See you Friday!
Barbara Nicolosi.
I went to a conference in Denver last Friday and heard Barbara Nicolosi speak about reviving the role of the Catholic Church in the arts. It was great. You can read a little but about it here. I was a little starstruck too after having read her chapter in Sex, Style and Substance. A couple of teachers from my school and I kept up a conversation about the topic for about an hour and a half after her talk.
Anything with cumin? I'm in love!
ReplyDeleteYeah I'm with you on the bad day thing. I think the baby cardi's are super cute too!
ReplyDeleteOooh those baby cardis are super cute! Miniature adult clothes for kids are just so charming. Those headbands are so pretty too!
ReplyDeleteDitto on the stuffed peppers. We have them about once a week!
ReplyDeleteIsn't Barbara the best? I bet her talk was excellent. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining in, love!
She is amazing! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteSo glad I discovered how easy they are sooner rather than later. I think they look and sound a lot fancier than they really are.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liz, I'm going to be on the lookout for some more cardis at our next consignment sale! I'm in love with Baby GAP ones!
ReplyDeleteLaura, I hope you're doing better now!
ReplyDeleteYou too? Sounds like we need to cook together! I think cumin goes in everything!
ReplyDeleteYes we should :) My favorite thing with cumin is either the black bean and sweet potato burritos I make, or I like the lime chicken with cumin. Mmmm.
